From Mark John McGrath on 25/5/2007

Though from many years ago, I have very fond memories of my uncle Gerard. In 1979 our family visited England and on the way home uncle Gerard took us to the airport - after saying our goodbyes we thought we thought that was the last we would see of him until the next trip. As our flight was leaving we happened to see Gerard standing on the top of the parking structure watching our flight leave - this memory will always be with me. The distance we were from the parking structure makes it difficult to say that it was him for certain, but there was no doubt in any of our minds that it was him - what a nice man I remember him being. My father has found losing his brother very difficult, as I know I will with my own siblings. I hope you are all coping well with such a devastating loss. Gerard looks much like my father, and though I had very little exposure to him I have always admired Gerard and have always known he was a good and kind man. I hope all of my extended family is doing well, and I hope to bring my family to meet you all soon. Love Mark, Diana, Andrew, Paige (& number 3 (as she is currently known) - due in August)
